About

After nearly two decades of experience at one of the top Minnesota law firms, Kristin Haugen decided she wanted to make her business savvy, litigation know-how, and intellectual property experience more accessible to businesses.  She founded KC Haugen Law and immediately began taking on clients.

Kristin Haugen is passionate about the businesses she works with; she takes the time to learn the ins and outs of her clients’ business operations so that she can develop creative business solutions to even the most complicated legal issues. Kristin knows that being right and winning doesn't matter if litigation interferes with the company's operations or drains the company of its vital resources like time, people and money.

KC Haugen Law believes in helping clients get off to the right start.  We all know that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure but sometimes forget to apply that adage to our own businesses. Whether it be forming your own business, finalizing a contract, or protecting your intellectual property, it is far easier – and often far less costly – to do it right from the beginning. As a trusted advisor, Kristin Haugen can help you to make sound business choices with a solid legal framework to back them up.

Kristin Haugen has dedicated many years to helping businesses to protect some of their most essential assets – their company name, their image, and their brand. Kristin Haugen provides representation to clients nationwide and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She represents clients in trademark registration, opposition, and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). She also has significant experience with intellectual property infringement litigation including trademark infringement, copyright infringement, and trade secret misappropriation.

In addition to her intellectual property experience, Kristin Haugen has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of business litigation disputes.  Whether it be a cease and desist letter or a breach of contract, a shareholder dispute or an employment case, Kristin Haugen knows how to provide sound legal advice that fits your particular business situation.
